Telesign bulk SMS setup for Ultra SMS
A messaging and identity API. You choose a message type for each gateway: alerts, marketing or one-time passwords.
What Ultra SMS asks for
| Customer ID | Telesign portal, on your account page. |
|---|---|
| API key | Same page. |
| Message type | Alerts and reminders (ARN), Marketing (MKT) or One-time passwords (OTP), to match your traffic. |
| Sender ID (optional) | Up to 20 characters. A custom one must be enabled by Telesign Support first, and Telesign may still override it. |
Steps
- Sign in to the Telesign portal and copy your Customer ID and API key.
- Choose the message type that matches your traffic.
- In Ultra SMS open the Gateways tab, click Add gateway, choose Telesign, and paste the Customer ID and API key.
- Send a test message to your own phone before you start a campaign.
Good to know
- Sending to Indian numbers needs DLT registration: your Entity ID, an approved sender ID (header) and the Template ID of an approved content template. Ultra SMS has fields for all three. See the India DLT chapter of the manual.
- There is no read-only account check for this gateway, so Test credentials cannot verify the login. Send a test SMS to your own number instead.
Before you send through Telesign
Telesign charges per message segment at its own rates, which depend on the destination country. Check that your sender is allowed in each country you text. Business traffic to the USA normally needs A2P 10DLC registration or a verified toll-free number, and India needs DLT registration. Use Test credentials first, then send one real test to your own phone.
Dashboards change their menus from time to time; if a label differs, look for the API keys or developer section. Stuck? See the Ultra SMS troubleshooting table, the Ultra SMS user guide, or contact us.
