Acceptable use and anti-spam policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

Ultra Email, Ultra SMS and Ultra WhatsApp exist for businesses that message an audience who asked to hear from them. They are not for spam, and we will not support it.

You may only message people who opted in

  • Subscribers who signed up, customers who bought from you and expect to hear from you, and members of your organisation.
  • Keep a record of how and when each person agreed, for each channel. Agreeing to email is not agreeing to SMS or WhatsApp.
  • Never use purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists. The Email Collector in Ultra Email only extracts addresses from text and files you already own.

Every message must

  • Identify you honestly, and be truthful.
  • Offer a simple way to opt out (an unsubscribe link in email, STOP wording in SMS where expected, and honouring a customer's request on WhatsApp), and honour opt-outs promptly.
  • Include your postal address where the law requires it.

Email (Ultra Email)

  • Send only through mailboxes and services you have the right to use, within their terms and limits.
  • Do not forge headers, hide the sender or use misleading subject lines.

SMS (Ultra SMS)

  • Use a sender ID or number you are entitled to, registered where required (DLT in India, A2P 10DLC or toll-free verification in the USA).
  • In India, send only from your registered entity, approved headers and approved templates, and deliver promotional SMS only in the permitted hours.
  • Respect quiet hours and national do-not-call or do-not-disturb rules.

WhatsApp (Ultra WhatsApp)

  • Use only the official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) through your own business account, and follow Meta's WhatsApp Business Terms, Business Messaging Policy and Commerce Policy.
  • Get opt-in that makes clear people will receive WhatsApp messages from your business.
  • Start conversations only with approved templates, and do not try to get around Meta's messaging limits or quality controls.
  • WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. Ultra WhatsApp is an independent product by Code Craft and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta.

Not allowed on any channel

  • Unsolicited bulk or commercial messages.
  • Phishing, scams, malware, or content that is illegal where you or the recipient live.
  • Content forbidden by your provider (for example Meta's Commerce Policy), such as illegal drugs or weapons.
  • Using the software to harass people.

Laws that apply

You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you and your recipients, which may include CAN-SPAM and the TCPA (USA), GDPR and PECR (EU and UK), CASL (Canada), TRAI's regulations and the DPDP Act (India). This page is not legal advice.

What we do about abuse

If we receive credible reports or evidence that a licence is being used for spam, we may suspend or revoke the key. Where the breach is serious we may not refund the purchase. We may also pass information to a provider or the authorities when the law requires it.

If you received spam you believe was sent with one of our products, forward it (for email, with full headers; for SMS or WhatsApp, a screenshot with the sender and time) to contact@ultraemailer.org. We take reports seriously.
